About the Makers
This Peace by Piece International partner, Itza Wood, creates jobs and fosters positive social impact by creating local, sustainable employment in the Petén Jungle of Guatemala — one of the most important biospheres on Earth. Their carpenters live in local communities where families are struggling to ensure basic human services. Through dignified word, they have the opportunity to improve their lives and the lives of their families. Itza Wood has planted over 45,000 trees to combat deforestation in the area and only use sustainably harvested and FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certified wood.
