About the Makers
This Peace by Piece International partner, Craft Boat, makes a difference in a small community of Indian artisans with the creation of ethically handmade paper goods. The workshop specializes in the design of unique accessories that bring art to the desktop. All items are made from recycled rags and paper, using an ancient Indian tradition they combine with sustainable practices. Craft Boat provides dignified incomes to craftspeople and hires individuals with disabilities. To date, this workshop has recycled more than 10,000 tones of textile waste to include canvas accessories, paper and packaging products.
