Prodigal Pottery is handmade by women fleeing homelessness, domestic abuse and sex-trafficking. In addition to job training, they equip women with financial training, emotional care and support, professional skills, and assistance finding stable living situations.
1951 Coffee Company in Berkeley, California helps refugees resettle and become part of the community through supports like English classes, training as a barista, and assistance with finding safe and secure job placements after training.
Women’s Bean Project believes that all women have the power to transform their lives through employment. They hire women who have been chronically unemployed and help them to secure long-term, meaningful work through supports like job skills training, emotional regulation, and financial literacy training — all while earning a dignified pay check making gifts in their local warehouse.
Homeless Garden Project provides hope to those experiencing homelessness in Santa Cruz, CA through job training, dignified work, community building, and opportunities like pursuing a GED. All of their products are grown on their organic farm and sold in their local retail stores.
