Ground Up provides job training to women overcoming adversity in the Portland, Oregon area. Through the sale of healthy and delicious nut butters, they empower women with the confidence and skills they need to get back on their feet. In their inclusive work environment that includes on-the-job training, GroundUp takes an individualized approach to meet women where they’re at, regardless of their background and previous job history.
beelove® employs women and men returning home from incarceration. Together with their partner, Sweet Beginnings, they provide opportunities to establish a positive work history, learn productive work habits, and become productive members of society. Every purchase of their products reduces the number of people who return to prison by providing the support, confidence and skills needed to re-enter the workforce.
Homeboy Industries provides hope, training, and support to formerly gang-involved and previously incarcerated men and women, allowing them to redirect their lives and become contributing members of the community. Clients are embraced by a community of kinship and offered a variety of free wraparound services. In addition to serving over 7,700 community clients, their flagship 18-month re-entry program is offered to over 400 men and women each year.
